Gary Carter died, the “Kid” is no longer

Gary Carter, alias the Sundance Kid, died today at age 57. The famous No. 8 Montreal Expos died of brain cancer. He passed away this afternoon at 16h10, in a hospital near his home in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Carter was an 11-time All-Star and three-time Gold Glove winner.

Known for his smile, Carter fell in a bath of charisma when he was little. Born April 8, 1954 in Culver City, a suburb of Los Angeles Hollywood, Carter grew up in the shadow of Universal Studios and Warner Brothers.

Carter was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor last May, two weeks after finishing his second season as coach at Palm Beach Atlantic University.
