Euro 2012: Del Bosque calles up Jordi Alba for Spanish team

MADRID (Reuters) – The coach of the team of Spain, Vicente del Bosque  called for the first time the back of Valencia Jordi Alba for qualifying matches for Euro 2012 against Czech Republic and Scotland .

The 22-year-old proved his abilities in both defense and offense with his club and showed his ability with the Spanish Junior Team selection, Vicente Del Bosque said  at a news conference on Friday.

“He is on good form and we want to have a closer look at him,” said the former Real Madrid coach.

Spain’s game against the Czechs is in Prague on October 7 and the match against Scotland in Alicante four days later.
