Djokovic sets ATP money mark

NEW YORK, U.S. -Novak Djokovic’s 64-2 record in 2011 has earned him a record.

According to the ATP with his victory in the International United States – his third Grand Slam this season – his earnings increased to USD 10.6 million, more than any other tennis player.

This money allows him to eclipse Rafael Nadal (2010) and Roger Federer (2007), who had completed their season with just under $ 10.2 million.

Monday night by beating Nadal, Djokovic has got hold of a check for $ 2.3 million: 1.8 million for the tournament and $ 500 000 in bonus for finishing second in the US Open Series, which takes into account results obtained in preliminary tournaments on hard courts.
