Slovenia: early elections in December

LJUBLJANA, Slovenia – On Wednesday the Slovenian president said the dissolution of parliament and called early elections after the fall of the government earlier this month.

Danilo Turk said that early elections, the first since independence from Yugoslavia in 1991 will be held on December 4.

President Turk called the vote after the centre-left government was ousted in a no-confidence vote in the parliament on Sept. 20. The government fell because of disagreements between the coalition partners and the departure of several ministers.
