EELV: Co-Chair of the parliamentary group slammed the door

The crisis has been brewing for several months in Europe Ecology-The Greens. Thursday, August 27 morning, it came to light when François de Rugy, Co-Chair of the Green group in the National Assembly with Barbara Pompili, announced in an interview with World he left the party. “In my opinion, EELV, it’s over. (…) Today, we can no longer have debates, neither strategic nor background, in a party that goes into a leftist drift” says MP Loire-Atlantique.

EELV, a “small presidential boutique”

According to de Rugy, EELV, far from wearing a green ambition, became a “Presidential small boutique” in the service of Cécile Duflot. “In the opinion, I see no momentum around this candidacy but Cécile Duflot is preparing,” he says, warning that “this application is as exact remake of the 2012″ when Eva Joly had collected just 2.31% of the vote.

Instead, he called for the organization of primary extended left to avoid another April 21, 2002. “If you do not want to undergo the same process of self-disposal than in the April 21, 2002, it will come together,” yet insists the MP.
