On Sunday Syrian President Bashar Assad warned against the destruction of the Middle East region in case of failure of the coalition of Russia and its allies against “terrorist groups” in his country.
In an interview with Iranian TV Khabar who asked about the chances of success of the coalition between Russia, the Syrian regime, Iran and Iraq against “terrorism”, Bashar al Assad replied: “It must succeed, if not the entire region will be destroyed and not just one or two countries.”
“The cost will certainly be high,” he said, according to an excerpt released by the Syrian president on Twitter. But he said he was confident, however, that “this coalition will get real results.” “The chances of success of this coalition are large and not minimal,” added the head of state whose troops are at war against the rebels for four and a half years. He called on Western countries to join this coalition.
“If these countries join in a serious and sincere manner the fight against the terrorists, at least by ceasing to support them, we will get results much faster.”
