Birds in agony, legs stuck in a trap: the largest association of animal rights in Norway continues to McDonald’s abuse, shocked by the methods of the famous American chain restaurant to deter birds from approaching.
This method, chosen by a specialist company in the fight against pests, was to put bread on cardboard trap and clean plastic stuck to the birds’ feet. This trap prevents attracted birds to leave, so they are dying there, and their congeners sense danger.
“We bring a complaint against the restaurant” on the outskirts of Kristiansand, in the southwest of the country, said Friday on his Facebook page the NOAH association. She said she had been warned by restaurant customers who had spotted these traps.
A client explained in the Norwegian press that she had called veterinarians and two animals seriously injured had to be euthanized.
the McDonald’s restaurant has not denied but defended himself by laying the blame on Anticimex, Swedish subcontractor must protect all animals attracted by its food. “We were convinced qu’Anticimex, which is number one in the fight against pests, followed the regulations and laws. We are also astounded everyone that this is not the case,” said the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet the restaurant manager, Alf Olav Øye. Anticimex is also subject of a complaint to NOAH.
