What are the treatments against diabetes?

Apart from insulin, there are three main treatment groups, which belong to different therapeutic classes. These are all antidiabetic taken orally, except incretin-recently entered the market – which are injectable.

Drugs of insulin resistance
– The biguanides;
– The glitazones.

The insulin secretors:
– Sulfonylureas (SH);
– Glinides;
– The incretin modulators.

Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors
All these treatments are effective. None of these classes of drugs act only on all targets involved in the disease diabetes yet. That is why they are often associated as part of dual therapy.
