This couple has built their own island spent 20 years

One day, determined to escape the stress of city , artists Wayne Adams and Catherine King decided to realize their dream: to build a small house on its own island. They decided it would be in one of the floating islands off the coast of Vancouver and British Columbia. They have spent more than two decades to complete quiet place apart in the midst of nature and the work is not over.

This Canadian couple lives away from civilization on an island called “The Bay of freedom.”


The couple said that the small island drifts near the coast of Vancouver and British Columbia, and that allows them to live with nature without interfering with it.


Its ecological paradise has a greenhouse, one art gallery, and even a lighthouse: all decorated with recycled and clear colors painted pink, turquoise and lilac materials.

Wayne and Catherine grow their own food in the garden which is across from the property, and obtain Electricity from solar panels.

“We live our life in a way that we hope will contribute to environmental conservation. ” Catherine.- ‘says “We try to live each day consciously and considerate nature.”

“The Bay of liberty” has been built for over 20 years and still is not finished.
