The next Superman will be filmed near Vancouver

VANCOUVER – Superman will visit British Columbia this fall thanks to the filming of his new film, “Man of Steel.”

The production of “Autumn Frost”, which is the code name given to the feature film of the superhero, settled in Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

The mayor of Ucluelet, Eric Russcher, said the shooting would allow the town to be known.

The scenes will be filmed on land belonging to an Aboriginal community and on a street in the municipality, which will be transformed for the occasion in a fishing village in Alaska.

Man of Steel” is scheduled to fly into theaters on Friday, June 14, 2013.

The film stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/ Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Julia Ormond as Lara Lor-Van, Kevin Costner as Jonathon ‘Pa’ Kent, Diane Lane as Martha ‘Ma’ Kent, Michael Shannon as Zod, Antje Traue as Faora, Sam Meloni as Colonel Hardy, Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, and Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.
