Roman Polanski returned to Switzerland

Yesterday,  (September 27) Franco-Polish director Roman Polanski was back  at Zurich Film Festival to receive a prize which was awarded in 2009.

Hosted by applause, the filmmaker, to whom we owe the films Rosemary’s Baby, Chinatown and The Pianist received award in recognition of his huge film career on yesterday .
Two years ago, Polanski was more welcomed by the police on his arrival at Zurich airport, to enforce an arrest warrant issued by U.S. authorities in 1978. He was then thrown into prison before being transferred to house arrest for a sexual event occurred in 1977 with a 13 year old child.

Polanski, 78,  thus addressed the crowd by climbing on stage: “Friends, what can I can say? Better late than never,” he began, as the audience erupted in laughter.

The filmmaker also wanted to “thank the staff of the prison, who tried to make their stay enjoyable. This is no joke. “
