Parachute jump at age 90

PITTSFIELD, USA – Lester Slate American who had learned to use a parachute in the Second World War has finally had the opportunity to make his first jump at the venerable age of 90.

On Sunday Lester Slate jumped in tandem in Maine, accompanied by another skydiver who was holding an American flag.

He had decided to offer this special gift for his 90th birthday, under the eyes of fifty families.

He told the Bangor Daily News that he was inspired by former U.S. President George HW Bush, who had jumped from a plane for his 85th birthday in 2009.

It was so much fun and I’d love to do it again”  said Lester Slate.   He has every intention to do it again – for his 95th or 100th anniversary.
