Literature – The Harry Potter novels now available in electronic format

London – The Harry Potter books are finally available in electronic format. The seven novels J. K. Rowling is now available in electronic and audio on the site Pottermore, announced the creators of the site yesterday.

Books are currently available in English, American and British versions, at a cost of $ 7.99 USD for electronic books and $ 29.99 for audio books. The site states that the French editions, Italian, German and Spanish will follow in the coming weeks.

The books are only available on the website, in formats compatible with the main reading lights, including the Amazon Kindle and Sony Reader, as well as tablets and mobile phones.

These are some 450 million copies of Harry Potter books have been sold worldwide, but Rowling has long resisted offering his novels electronically.

It was announced last year that e-books are available at Pottermore, an interactive portal on the Harry Potter universe. The entire site, which includes a virtual encyclopedia, games, social networking and an online store, expected to open in April.

Its launch, originally planned last October, was delayed after tests made ​​with a limited number of users have shown that changes were needed.

The seventh and final novel in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) was published in 2007.
