Composer Robert B. Sherman, author of several successful Disney died

London – The composer Robert B. Sherman, to whom we owe many songs that accompanied the Disney classics, died at the age of 86.

Sherman’s agent, Stella Richards, said Tuesday that Sherman died peacefully on Monday in London. Alongside his brother Richard, as the “Sherman Brothers“, Robert B. Sherman has composed music for several Disney films, including The Jungle Book, The Aristocats and Mary Poppins. The duo also wrote the piece It’s a Small World (After All) for the Universal Exhibition of 1964. His son, Jeffrey Sherman, wrote on Facebook that his father “wanted to bring joy into the world and, undoubtedly, he has succeeded.” The Sherman Brothers won two Oscars for Mary Poppins, one of the best music and one for best song.
