Colin Farrell will integrate the distribution of Fantastic Beasts, a spin-off inspired by the Harry Potter universe.
The Hollywood Reporter announced that Colin Farrell will join the cast of Fantastic Beasts, the first film of a trilogy based on the Harry Potter universe. The realization was entrusted to David Yates, who has directed the last four films of the saga (The order of the Phoenix, The Half-Blood Prince and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2). According to the US magazine, Farrell pitched the role of Graves, a sorcerer that the character of Norbert dragonet will meet in New York.
The trilogy of Fantastic Beasts inspired the novel by JK Rowling, which will also sign the script of the first film. The story, which takes place 70 years before the events of Harry Potter, focuses on Norbert dragonet a “magizoologue” commissioned by the Ministry of Magic to catalog the magical animals that populate the world. Besides Colin Farrell, Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogier were confirmed in the cast. The film will be released on November 2016.
