Cheetah, the chimpanzee appeared in the films “Tarzan” in 1930, died at the age of 80 in a reserve in Florida. The identity of the primate is controversial, several monkeys were used at the time to play in different movies.
The cause of death of Chita was kidney failure. Death occurred on December 24. As a representative of the nursery told reporters Debbie Cobb, quoted by Associated Press, Chita was a cheerful animal – it loved to paint with his fingers and listening to people laugh.
Chita starred in the films of Tarzan in the period from 1932 to 1934. In particular, Chita can be seen in the film “Tarzan and his girlfriend” and “Tarzan, the ape-man.”
Chimpanzees in nature can survive to 60 years, but the average wild specimens of these monkeys live 25-35 years.
